Demonstration plant · Sanchore, RajasthanBiochar results: Isometric Class 1 on Juliflora
Biochar made from Prosopis juliflora in an SGC-designed and SGC-built reactor, at a demonstration plant in Sanchore, Rajasthan, is certified Isometric Class 1.
What the numbers mean
The H/C ratio shows how far the biomass has converted into stable, ring-shaped carbon. The lower it is, the longer the carbon stays locked in the biochar. At 0.38 or lower, our biochar sits well below the European Biochar Certificate's maximum of 0.7.
Organic carbon of 80.9% or higher means most of each tonne is carbon, against an EBC minimum of 50%.
Juliflora is an invasive woody shrub that covers large areas of western India. Turning it into certified biochar gives a problem species a use.

Common questions
What feedstock is the Isometric Class 1 certification for?
Prosopis juliflora. SGC's reactors are also designed for agro-residues and RDF from municipal solid waste, but the certification covers Juliflora only.
What were the biochar results?
Organic carbon of 80.9% or higher and an H/C ratio of 0.38 or lower, from pyrolysis at 400–450 °C with a 60–90 minute residence time.
Who designed and built the reactor?
Shaiva Green Carbons designed and built the reactor. The Sanchore plant serves as a demonstration site for SGC's technology.
